To enable me to produce large, very high quality prints I have recently invested in a Canon iPF8000 printer. This 12 colour printer produces stunning prints with a wide colour gamut and by using pigment ink they have an archival stability that is significantly better than colour photographic prints.

The printer is 44" wide and can produce prints up to 58 feet in length. If I were to use it's maximum width I could produce panoramas that were 20ft by 40 inches. (Based on a 6:1 ratio).

After reviewing my business in 2006 I decided that I would stop offering digital services when the new website was launched. This idea met with a lot of opposition from friends and clients who would have to go to Calgary for high quality printing and scanning. I also enjoy creating high quality prints for other people. Therefore, I have decided to continue offering these services but with a few changes. 

1. The net order must be $100 or more.
2. Rush orders are a major disturbance to my family and day to day business. Rush orders with a 24hr turn around are subject to a 40% surcharge. Rush orders with a 48hr turn around are subject to a 20% surcharge.
3. Minimum print size is 8.5 x 11"
4. Due to continuing problems with a supplier, laminating and stretching of canvas prints is no longer available.

Pricing

Matte, Luster or Glossy photo paper. These are the best value finishes with lightfastness ratings of over 70 years. Sizes greater than 13x19" are priced at $12.50 per square foot. Typical sizes and prices are shown below.

Watercolour Paper. Watercolour paper with the right printing techniques can produce stunning results with a unique look. Sizes greater than 13x19" are priced at $17.50 per square foot. Typical sizes and prices are shown below.

Canvas. Ink jet prints on canvas can look like a painting. Canvas prints are booming because of the way they look and the low framing costs. However, this new technology can be brittle and I highly recommend that canvas prints are laminated before they are stretched. Sizes greater than 11x17" are priced at $17.50 per square foot. Typical sizes and prices are shown below.

High resolution scanning. A variety of scanning services are offered, from low resoltion scans for use on websites or Powerpoint slideshows to high resolution scans for archival storage and fine art prints. Both 35mm and 120/220 film formats can be scanned as well as prints. B&W negatives and any prints are subject to a 20% surcharge.

Scans up to a scanner resolution of 2000 dpi are $13 each.
Scans up to a scanner resolution of greater than 2000 dpi are $20 each.

Colour management Ever wondered why what you see on your screen is never what you get from your printer ? If you want to have consistent results from screen to print, then managing your colour work flow is essential for any body involved with digital photography or graphical design. It is important to use the correct colour working space and to use calibrated monitors and printer profiles if you are to achieve consistency. I offer advice on creating a workflow that is suitable for your needs and I can set up the colour workspace on your Mac or PC, as well as calibrate your LCD or CRT monitor as well as calibrating your printer. The rate is $80/hour and charged in 15minute increments. Travel outside Canmore, Alberta is charged at $0.45/km.

Photoshop services If you have any Photoshop requirements such as image retouching, repair of a damaged print or slide, or the creation of a collage, then contact me to discuss your needs. The rate is $80/hour and charged in 15minute increments.

Discounts If you are a member of the Canmore Artists and Artisans Guild or a member of the Canmore Camera Club then you are entitled to a 10% discount. Please mention this when you submit the order.
