The workshop will start with field trips and lectures
explaining how to use the different features of a digital camera. In the
mornings and evenings Richard will take the participants to his favourite
locations around Canmore to photograph wildlife and stunning mountain scenes.
During these field trips discover more about the
techniques, tools and compositional thinking that Richard has used to become
an acclaimed photographer. Richard believes in capturing an image correctly in
the field and not spending hours fixing images in Photoshop. Therefore he will
also teach traditional photographic field techniques to ensure that each
photographer will spend more time in the field behind a camera and not in a
room behind a computer.
The workshop will use the well equipped computer lab
at the Bow Valley college and between field trips Richard will teach his quick
and successful file management and file editing workflows. He will also give
you confidence in working with RAW files.
You will learn how to use Adobe Lightroom and
Photoshop to download, edit and print your photographs. The Photoshop skills
that Richard will teach can also be used with Photoshop Elements.
By the end of the week you will have developed the
skills to use Lightroom and Photoshop with confidence and speed.
Richard is a very enthusiastic teacher and enjoys
seeing workshop participants having fun and becoming more confident with their
photography. He will happily answer your questions and doesn’t believe in
keeping secrets. By the end of the week Richard is confident that everyone
will go home with prints of their own stunning photographs and skills that
will last them a lifetime.
