WORKSHOPS
Richard loves to teach and to share his experiences
and knowledge with others. His philosophy of teaching is simple: "No secrets."
He is happy to answer any question; he doesn’t hold back with sharing his
knowledge; and he enjoys it when he sees his students improve and become more
confident with their camera and compositions.
Richard teaches weekend courses in Adobe Photoshop in
Canmore at Bow Valley College. He also leads small, intimate group photography
tours to various North American locations. Sometimes the workshop is based in
Canmore, while other times the group will travel as far afield as Moab, the
Grand Canyon, or Vancouver Island. One thing each tour has in common: Richard
carefully scouts out the trip beforehand to ensure that everything goes
smoothly. Then, when he and his students arrive, they can concentrate on
having fun while making beautiful photographs.
His enthusiasm and knowledge are both infectious and
inspiring, and many of his workshop participants return for a second or third
stint.
2005 and 2006 were successful years for his workshops,
and in 2007 he will return to some of the popular destinations from those
years, adding new destinations and broadening the range of topics covered.
Each of Richard's photography trips is open only to
four to six people. Smaller groups mean each participant gets more one-on-one
time with Richard. It also increases the fun for everyone.
